Below are a few of the favourite background designs I did for Rickey Sprocket.

Here is my initial sketch for the hockey arena for my animated short and children's book "Clancy with the Puck" along with a finished version as well.

My last six years of employment has been at Studio B Productions in Vancouver on the following productions. Overall I have been working here and other Vancouver studios consistenly since 1994.

The last issued hockey card of Hall of Famer, Clancy Cooke.
During his career which spanned from 1952 to 1974, Clancy amassed 589 goals, 658 assists and 1247 points in 1145 games.
His last season saw him skate for the Oakton Princes and the expansion, Haileyburgh Harp Seals. Cooke is undisputedly the greatest player to never sip from Lord Stanley's chalice.

Admirals Re-unite!!

The Admirals hockey club re-assembled in January for some good Ol' fashioned pond hockey.
Results were unfavorable, and they quickly disbanded again.

Hogtown Gardens circa 1958

Photo of the old Hogtown Gardens, on a cold winters' night in February, 1958. The Gardens were hastily erected during a 2 month period in 1922, and seats 12,670 spectators. It is currently home to the Hogtown Hammers of the Arena Football League.

Newly re-discovered advertisement featuring Hall of Fame goaltender Guppy Cunningham, who ended up being found dead in a boxcar in a Kenora Ontario railyard, with an empty bottle of Peterson's clutched in his hand. Ironic, no?

Card of the great Earl Kelly, known as one of the more rugged and dirty players in the league. He once split an opponents skull from ear to ear, merely because he scored an empty net goal.

Here's an old advertisement I found in an old Hogtown program. The '59 ThunderStar truley was an innovative jump in automobile design. It had a wheel base of of 28 ft and could comfortably seat 8 adults and 6 children.

The Buds went on to lose the Cup in the finals, on a failed penalty shot by Clancy Cooke.

A prized card of my personal collection, the 57-58 Wally Grosso, who's career would sadly end 4 years later during an ill-fated attempt at Stock Car racing. He would still retire as the fifth highest scorer in history, but who knows what might have been. Truely tragic.

This is the line-up page issued in the game program, from 1958. Many future Hall of Famers appeared in this game including Emil "Crunchy" Macfarlane, Wally "The Grand One" Grosso, and James"Cowboy" Cuddy.

Stick swinging incident of '57

The unfortunate moment when veteran, Frank Mackenzie was brutally felled by the lumber of an opponent. This incident will soon be immortalized in the upcoming book, "Clancy with the Puck".

What a find! Another rare card from the tough to find 1957 set. Charlie Chabot, pictured in the midst of an adequate career, on his way to induction into the Northern Quebec Sportsman Hall of Fame.

Here is a recently found Game Program of the now defunct Hogtown Maple Buds...it was found in an old steamer trunk at a garage sale in Listowel, Ontario. The estimated value is over $2000, but as a piece of hockey history, it is simply priceless.
